About Katharine Hill, Ph.D., MSW, MPP, LISW

Dr. Katharine Hill is the Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement and Research, and professor of social work at the 91制片厂. Thomas, Morrison Family College of Health. In her current role she oversees the Center for Faculty Development, internal and external grants, sponsored programs, the Institutional Review Board, and faculty orientation and onboarding. She works collaboratively across the University to support faculty engagement, professional development, and scholarship.

Dr. Hill has taught in multiple social work programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels and served as the BSW Program Director and the Director of the School of Social Work at the 91制片厂. Thomas. Her scholarly and professional work focuses on educating social workers - and others - to become leaders, advocates, and change agents in their communities. Dr. Hill's expertise includes voter registration and engagement, political social work practice, and policy and issue advocacy. She has been recognized by the Nancy A. Humphreys Institute on Political Social Work at the University of Connecticut School of Social Work, Influencing Social Policy, the University of Minnesota's College of Education and Human Development, and Minnesota Campus Compact for her scholarly and professional work.

Prior to becoming a faculty member, Dr. Hill worked at the Institute on Community Integration at the University of Minnesota providing technical assistance and training to state and local government. Dr. Hill is a licensed social worker in the state of Minnesota and holds a Ph.D. in social work from the University of Minnesota, a master's in public policy from the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, a master's in social work from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor's degree in history from Macalester College.
